30 Days of Peace
The Brazos Valley Dispute Resolution Center (DRC) is launching its “30 Days of Peace” campaign to inspire harmony, resilience, and community unity throughout the Brazos Valley. This month‑long initiative will spotlight the power of peaceful conflict resolution and the role each neighbor can play in building a more connected, respectful, and conflict‑free community.
Purpose of the Campaign
The Brazos DRC’s mission is to facilitate the peaceful resolution of conflicts through mediation and other alternative dispute resolution methods, offering low‑cost or no‑cost services to residents, businesses, and organizations in Brazos and surrounding counties. The “30 Days of Peace” campaign builds on this mission by raising awareness, encouraging dialogue, and mobilizing community members to act as Peace Ambassadors.
We are seeking Peace Ambassadors (community volunteers) who will:
-
Spread the word about the importance of conflict resolution and mediation in everyday life.
-
Help resolve disputes in their neighborhoods through early intervention and respectful dialogue.
-
Promote a peaceful community by modeling empathy, open communication, and civility in all interactions.
How will this work?
-
Awareness & Education: Ambassadors will share stories, host small discussions, and participate in events that highlight the benefits of mediation and peaceful problem‑solving.
-
Conflict Resolution Support: Volunteers may assist in informal negotiations, connect parties to Brazos DRC mediation services, and encourage respectful resolution of disagreements.
-
Community Building: The campaign will include workshops, conversations, and outreach activities to strengthen trust, understanding, and cooperation within the Brazos Valley.
How can I get involved?
